How big is Bat Haus and how many guests fit?
Bat Haus has two hosting areas on different floors. The main floor holds up to 50 guests for celebrations, and a separate downstairs studio holds up to 15 for intimate workshops. The two can be reserved together for exclusive use of the entire venue.
Take a full tour of our Brooklyn event space, made for weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, and birthday parties. We start upstairs in the main room — a bright, flexible space that sets the tone for any celebration — and step out into the private backyard, perfect for mingling, ceremonies, or soaking up a little fresh air. Then we head downstairs to the private studio, an intimate setup ideal for floral workshops and hands-on events, complete with a kitchenette area to keep your day running smoothly. How does the layout flow, and can I configure the tables?
All tables are on wheels, so the room adapts to your event. Guests arrive through the lobby into the bright main room; a wooden bar unit anchors a welcome or check-in station, with food and dessert tables along the wall. Five long banquet tables seat 40–50 with a center aisle, and the glass-block window wall is a natural focal point for a ceremony or backdrop. Step out to the private backyard for cocktail hour and photos. Layouts include long banquet tables, ceremony rows, round tables, or open space for mingling.

As you enter Bat Haus, you arrive through a shared lobby that leads into the main floor event space and the downstairs studio. From the lobby, guests walk directly into the bright main room where most celebrations take place.
The main event space opens up with high ceilings, string lights, and paper lanterns overhead, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for gatherings.
On the right near the entrance, a wooden bar unit anchors the space. It works well for a welcome drink station, check in table, or styled welcome sign. Next to it, two to three 6 x 2 foot tables are typically placed for food, catering, dessert displays, or gift tables.
On the left side, coat racks are available during colder months. In warmer seasons, this area can be cleared for additional standing room, a photo backdrop, or decorative installation.
All tables are on wheels, making it easy to adjust the layout for buffet lines, long dining setups, or open space for dancing and mingling.
-
Right next to the bar unit is the dedicated food area, where guests naturally gather after grabbing a drink.
Three 6 x 2 foot wooden tables line the wall to create a continuous buffet surface. If you need more space, two 6 x 4 foot folding tables are available for desserts, catering trays, or a separate beverage station.
The layout supports smooth self-serve flow with plenty of room for grazing boards, hot dishes, salads, and desserts. It is flexible and easy to expand based on your event size.
-
After you pass the food area, you enter the main room where the seating lines both sides with a clear center aisle.
Five 8 x 2 foot wooden tables are arranged in parallel rows, comfortably seating 40 to 50 guests in a long banquet style that encourages conversation while keeping the space open.
The large window wall at the back is a natural focal point for a wedding arch, ceremony setup, or balloon backdrop. You can also use the shorter side wall or corner for a styled photo moment without changing the seating layout.
-
Toward the back of the main event space, you can step outside into our rare private backyard. This outdoor area extends your gathering beyond the room and works well for cocktail hour, wedding portraits, or guests who want fresh air and relaxed conversation. The indoor to outdoor flow adds flexibility, especially during spring and summer celebrations.
The backyard connected to the main floor is reserved for events hosted in the main space, giving your guests a comfortable outdoor area to mingle while keeping the celebration centered around your group.
On the lower level, you will find the kitchenette and additional support spaces. The kitchenette provides counter space for catering prep, plating, and beverage setup, along with a sink and refrigeration access to keep service organized and out of sight.
The lower level also includes a private studio room designed for small group workshops and intimate gatherings of up to 15 guests. This room operates independently from the main event space and includes a lounge area nearby for mingling or light food display.
The entrance lobby, kitchenette, and restrooms are located on the lower level and may be used briefly by guests from either hosting area. Event activities themselves take place in separate rooms, allowing celebrations on the main floor to remain comfortable and uninterrupted.

The feature hosts always comment on
After 14 years in this room, the glass-block window wall is the detail guests remember — it floods the space with soft, even daylight that makes photos look beautiful without any extra lighting. When we plan a layout, we keep that window as the visual anchor: ceremonies face it, backdrops sit against it, and golden-hour light does the rest. It's the kind of thing you can only learn by hosting here for over a decade.
